Reaching Men and the Jesus-Centered Leader

Brady Cooper is the senior pastor of New Vision Baptist Church, the church where I serve as teaching pastor. During Brady’s tenure, over the last nine years, the church has grown from 400 people in worship to 4,000. Brady is a man who is being formed by the gospel in his faith and in his ministry. He has also built a culture of reaching men. When I preach at the church, I notice lots of men. The church has effectively cracked the code on reaching dudes in Middle Tennessee. At the end of the interview Brady gives some insight on reaching men. With Brady, I have observed that he quite simply:

  1. Hangs out with unchurched men
  2. Errs to the side of speaking more to men in the services than the women
  3. Seeks simple ways to help the men grow.
