The next several months will be busy for me, from a preaching/teaching perspective. While leading the Church Resources Division at LifeWay is my primary ministry role, I am honored to preach/teach some as well.
For the last 18 months I have been honored to serve New Vision Baptist Church in Murfreesboro as teaching pastor. I love my pastor, Brady, and Kaye and I love our small group. I will continue in my role at New Vision, still preaching on my scheduled dates, but beginning January 5, I will also be serving as “transitional preaching minister” at Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee.
I preached at Englewood this summer for Ben Mandrell, a good friend and brother, and I loved it. The Lord has led Ben and his wife to move to Denver to plant a church. Ben has served faithfully as senior pastor for the previous seven years. He is a gifted teacher and leader, and I believe the Lord will use him greatly in Denver.
Englewood has a great legacy and is making a significant impact in West Tennessee. For example, several folks I have met in Nashville are graduates of Union University and were impacted by the ministry of Englewood during their time in Jackson. My friend, Travis Cottrell, serves as worship pastor at Englewood, and I look forward to worshiping and serving alongside him each week.
