I am honored to lead the Resources Division at LifeWay and serve with a team of leaders who are passionate to serve the Church in her mission of making disciples. Each Wednesday, I share the heart behind one of the resources our team has developed and give an opportunity for you to register to win a free copy of the resource. This week’s resource is a complete download from our Leadership Pipeline Conference.
Last October, the Leadership team here at LifeWay hosted the Pipeline Conference. The entire event centered around the development of leaders in the church. More than that, though, it was about creating a culture of leadership development with the necessary systems in place to do so biblically and effectively.
Some church leaders might read this and think: “Leadership development? That’s for businesses, not churches.” That could be true if leadership development were only thought of as skills development or as a power exchange. But that is not what we see in Scripture. Our Leadership team bases everything they do on Ephesians 4:11-13, where the clear call is made for church leaders to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry—to develop the people in the church to their fullest and highest ministry ability.
This is leadership development. And this is why we brought in top church leaders to teach and train attendees why and how to instill this in their churches.
